Bored shitless at the lack of creative opportunities in my Yorkshire hometown, I moved to west London the day after my 18th birthday to work in comms at one of the UK's hottest startups. It was great.
After a year, I realised I'd learned so much and had become so busy that I thought I'd explode, so I flew to Italy for a weekend to think about things.
Instead of burning out before I'd even had a proper girlfriend (lol) I decided to leave and apply what I've learned to other cool startups and small businesses.
This means I gained work/life balance - which for me means putting my all into projects while still having much-needed time to dick about drinking G&Ts in the Tate at the weekend.
